Caere Corporation Unveils "Team OCR" Support Program for Imaging Industry OEMs, Developers and System Integrators
ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 1998
Put More "Rev In Your Dev" With Caere's Developer Kits for OCR Integration
Caere Corporation's (NASDAQ:CAER - news) Imaging Products Group has unveiled Team OCR, an outreach program designed to identify and enhance its relationship with integrators, software developers and OEMs. Team OCR will serve as a forum for these industry visionaries to voice their feedback about their current and future OCR needs, effectively influencing the development of the next generation of recognition technologies. Through this forum, Caere aims to strengthen its bond with the developer community, building on the foundation that more developers use the M/Series toolkits for OCR integration than practically all other competitive products combined.
''This is an active outreach program to the imaging industry which will help Caere improve the technology it provides to systems integrators, software developers and OEMs,'' said Scott Dean, worldwide sales manager for Production OCR and TEAM OCR manager, Caere Corporation. ''TEAM OCR is our way of developing a broad based partnership with our current and prospective customers in order to continue to provide unparalleled tools and documentation to help them respond to the needs of their customers and OCR users.''
Team members, who can register for free by visiting caere.com, will receive priority releases of Caere Developer Kit upgrades, discount pricing on Caere's next generation toolkit, free technical support, a free developer's copy of the new M/Text engine release and a distribution copy of the engine of their choice. Only registered members will automatically receive the above benefits as well as the official and totally cool TEAM OCR T-shirt and a CD-ROM upgrade to Caere's developer kit 6.2 which is expected to be released in early summer. Prospective members can also register in person at the Caere booth No. 1875 at the Association for Information and Imaging Management's (AIIM) annual conference being held May 12-14, 1998 at The Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, Calif. Whether they register on the web or at AIIM, one member will win a high-tech VooDoo Canzo ESP mountain bike in a random drawing of the team roster on May 30, 1998.
''This program will help Caere's industry partners more easily incorporate high-performance OCR into information management solutions,'' said Charlie Montague, a product manager for Caere's Imaging Products Group. ''Document management users around the globe will increasingly find Caere technology in ever more innovative products and services, a fact that speaks highly of Caere's advanced technical reliability and design flexibility.''
