Day orders are cancelled automatically, with no action on your part necessary. My guess is that after market hours, Datek's system goes to sleep , at least for things like cancelling day orders. Either that, or the automatic response "trying to cancel" was sent back to you, and it just sits there until the purge process overnite resets it.

In any event, I doubt you need to worry about it. Just check for open orders before the open tomorrow.
