Hey Archer, or is it Jeb?

Somebody spook you? That's a nice disclaimer you put together there. What are you afraid of? Everyone's entitled to an opinion unless there is more to it than that. Maybe you have a big short position that you are getting killed on and are using the internet to scare people away and try to drive the stock down. You wouldn't be the first to do it. Maybe the co. was referring to you, maybe not. I'm sure there is nothing to worry about.
However, the co. did take time to dispell some of the crap that's been written lately.

The company called the conference to announce a lawsuit against Worldgate Communications and to clarify their patent situation which they believe is not fully understood by the marketplace. Without getting technical, the bottom line is that Source's virtual modem technology is patent-protected throughout the entire range of set-top boxes that make up the 15 million box order from the cable operators including GI's DCT1000,1200,2000,and very importantly the 5000 series as well as the SA Explorer series. The co. took great pains to differentiate their product from the cable modem product[AT Home] that has caused some confusion and hence raised some concerns. AT Home's and any other cable modem is designed to offer high speed internet access via cable wire to the P.C.!!. Source's virtual modem will allow high speed access via cable to the T.V.!!!. Any attempt to connect a cable modem to a tv will be infringing on a Source Media patent. They have hired a high powered Silicon Valley law firm that specializes in intellectual property and are prepared to vigorously defend their patents.AtHome knows it as well as Microsoft and Sun Micro. Source is a major player in the development of digital cable and interactive services and will continue to be one. You only need to have been to the cable show in Atlanta last week to see the activity at the Source Media booth and also at the booths of GI and SA to see that the big players in the industry take them very seriously indeed. This will become evident in time.

Also some posts have been made concerning the telephone side of the business. You will see when earnings are released later this week that the business is not only profitable but very healthy and growing nicely.

Oh, for the record, I'm long SRCM and this is ONLY MY OPINION. I wish all shorts well. You are my friends long term because at some point you will be scrambling to cover.
