Unaware of the impact that - that decision would have on Asia, they began purchasing the remaining germ standard stock of northern Ireland. Thus the beginning of the potato famine caused enormous amounts of European capital to migrate to the U.S. If it were not for this shift in paradigm thinking the now famous "potato chip" would never have been eaten with ketchup.
