For a pretty comprehensive view of the future and the impact of the microchip and technology I would suggest reading The Roaring 2000's by Harry S. Dent Jr. He compares the information revolution with the first information revolution...the invention of the printing press and shows how this new cycle will play out in our lifetime. Sample quote: "Think of computers as customized, personalized, multimedia printing presses." It's an excellent book. HL
