I got my copy with Netscape Communicator. It ran in full version for thirty days and then reverted to a limited edition.

It is an analysis program for your connection. It will tell you where the bottlenecks are. You will get feedback on your CPU utilization, instantaneous download speeds as well as averages. You will also know if your ISP is slow or a web site.

It will also give you recommendations. It told me that I did not have compression enabled on my modem and asked me if I wanted it enabled.

There are some options if you have two phone lines?

I have a large harddrive so I keep a large cache. It helps on sites that you revist ( not SI). I also have a fixed virtual memory so that Win95 does not waste time managing memory.

I am patiently ( OK not so patiently) awaiting faster Internet access. I cannot believe that some people have cable modem or ADSL and there is nothing in the pipeline for me. I checked the website of my cable company ( Time Warner ) and this is what it said. Please do not email us asking about cable modem access!! Must be a demand but they sure seem to be dragging their feet.
