Oh, you will get no disagreement from me about using stock options (or, in this case, warrants) as a means of rewarding good consultancy.

However, such options, warrants, stock, etc. almost always carry restrictions.

In this case, they are able to exercise the warrants and sell the stock immediately, with very minimal timing restrictions (they have to give the company two days notice).

There isn't ANYTHING being held-back until the job is done.

Would you ever consider paying a consultant 100% of their fee at the start of a job?

So, I don't disagree on the use of warrants - just the manner in which they are being paid. There is nothing here to protect the company.
