There has been little publicized speculation on the arrival of "Asian Flu" to the markets and economy of the U.S. in comparison to the very real dangers IMHO. There has been, and continues to be, such a huge amount of liquidity to support our markets that continues to mask major underlying threats. Bank debt is a significant one but increasingly poor corporate earnings looms as well. I would be interested in your (and the thread's) views on this. With the region's markets respurred decline going on as we speak does Hong Kong show in special resilience?
