HL,>>> I would suggest reading The Roaring 2000's by Harry S. Dent Jr.<<<

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try to pick up the book the next time I get to Barnes & Nobles.

>>>He compares the information revolution with the first information revolution...the invention of the printing press and shows how this new cycle will play out in our lifetime. Sample quote: "Think of computers as customized, personalized, multimedia printing presses."<<<

I was thinking more along the lines of the power of a collective intelligence from 1 billion connected computers - as envisioned by the Jesuit Priest, Teilhard de Chardin.

On a more trivial level I see toys in Toys R Us, right now, with microchips far more sophisticated than those used in the Gulf War.

A "new age printing press" is only the beginning of a journey that I can't begin to imagine.

It's mindboggling for me to think there could be reasonably intelligent people (like Tom Kurlak) sugguesting that we have reached some kind of a plateau.

Regards,

Mary
