Hey Stitch, they may not be too far from the hoop stress limit, you could easily go to 30,000 rpm, above that the engineering costs might defeat the access time gains, at what RPM are they now? By the way, that might be an area of innovation. Who says media needs to rotate? Why not keep the magnetic platter fixed and use a "head linear array" (moving linearly)? Zeev
