Hi Robert,
Thank you for your post. I have been pondering your views and see where you are coming from with the second ingathering of Israel. You are saying the second ingathering was of spiritual Israel, the born again believers. So that ingathering has been going on now for almost 2 millenia? What I might call the church age you call the second ingathering of spiritual Israel. I don't think that is what the prophecies are about but study and learning takes years. On the other hand if what I believe is true we barely have that much time before the end!

When I say that Israel (the real estate) is playing a part in last days prophecy I am not giving it or the unsaved Jewish population any special status other than what the word gives it. Clearly world events are still hinged on the state of Israel and the conflicts in that region which have been seen as possibly being a spark to a world conflict and nuclear war. The Israeli/Arab problems have been a focal point of world politics this entire century, have lead to three wars in which Israel miraculously overcame incredible odds to win every time, even overcoming the duplicity of the United States government. I cannot see any other explanation than Israel was delivered by God from destruction and that God established Israel (the state) for His own purpose. I search that purpose out.

Now with India's testing of new nuclear weapons the India/Pakistan antagonisms are seen as a great threat to peace. It's also interesting that this "Lord Maitreya" is from that region. Will this potential conflict be an opportunity for him to "come out" in a big way on the world stage as he brokers peace in that region if India/Pakistan come to the brink of war, even nuclear war, with their large arsenals of weapons. Will Maitreya then achieve the stature he desires to lead the world into the "new age" which we (some of us) really know is the setting up of the beast system? A wise man sees the evil coming and hides himself!
