When you use level II or III, you see the change in market makers' prices. The change make you feel limit orders are in order. If you do not , but stay with the internet brokerage quotes and compare with the real time one day chart, you can appreciate that market orders will do the job fine.

During momentum plays, the internet brokerages may run out of stock, what can you do? They have to buy from market makers and you can get unreasonable quotes. You also get lengthy time to confirm your orders. What can you do?

Use more computers and many more internet brokerage accounts to buy stock where there is still availability.
