Maybe the reporter was using the "new math" - funded by Intel. Intel is counting on the dumbing down of America; the new Wilted Celery (Celeron) parts that are out do not include L1 cache but tout high frequencies. Even though a 300 Mhz unit operates slower than most competitive 266 Mhz units, many consumers will be duped into thinking they are getting a good value. The public wants value - give them dancers in metallic clean room gowns.
