how can amat be low balling since they keep missing their own low projected numbers. here is more estimates---alex brown-reduced estimates-1998 from 1.67 to 1.11 this year. lehman brothers--third quarter previous 31 cents now 20 cents. fourth quarter-previous 31 cents-new estimate 21 cents. new estimate for 1998 1.30 per share down from 1.50. so we will see. intc comes out and reduces numbers and wall street kills them. amat comes and numbers are reduced dramatically and the stock goes up. one risks that makes me nervous is when the street keeps their ratings but reduces estimates. in the past history its a whisper to get of the stock. i'll give you more estimates tonight.
