I think that if you look at MSFT and its recent thrusts into new markets, they are aware that they are tapping out for now in the PC market. I think thats why they are pushing Windows CE. Its going into the new cable boxes, and all the palm computers are going to it. Potentially this is a huge market. But TCI kinda put the kabosh on their complete dominance of cable by choosing Sun to provide software. Possibly a move that indicates the market's tendency to stop monopolies eventually.
