I just use a web-based service called iqsuite. If I wasn't so darned lazy I'd get Metastock and learn to use it expertly. Actually, I did get Metastock and liked it, until I got a call from the data provider (Reuters, I think) thanking me for all the good business I was giving them, asking for arcane quotes on arcane instruments at a cost of $150 p/m. Turns out that you have to eliminate the default sample files to avoid downloading them automatically. So while I thought I was just downloading the 30 or so stocks I follow, I was also getting, without knowing it, all sort of useless (to me) data and paying for it.
