The latest edition of Telephony has an interesting 3 page article from Dr. Xin Cheng, President and Director of Osicom about Short Haul DWDM in the Metro markets. It's probably about 2,500 words or so. Talks about what to look for in a short haul system and why it's difficult to use/convert a long haul system for short haul applications.
I know Telephony has a web site so perhaps someone can track it down.
Also, a story just came across the Bloomberg that George Gilder discussed Osicom, (along with Microsoft, LSI, Aptix, Actel, Xilinx, Altera, Atmel, SEEQ, Nortel, Temic, Harris, NEC, Hitachi, Texas Instrument, Polaroid, Level 3, WorldCom, RCN, Qwest, Netscape, and Oracle) in his recent report called " The Second Half of the Chessboard". I haven't seen the story so it could be just a one liner for all I know, but it is nice to see Osicom has hit George's radar screen. |
