I didn't even notice that Compaq computers were using non-Intel chips until I read this thread. None the less it was obvious to me that Compaq's computers were not exiting to buyers and store clerks if not interior to other computers. This disappoints me very much since my biggest number of shares (after two splits) are in CPQ since last year.

Or if my impression is wrong and granted that they have strong server products, can anyone give some specific favorible comparision of Compaq computers (Desktops and Laptops) over other brands? Why would people buy theirs than the competitors?
Did Compaq themselves even have such claim themselves other than cheaper prices? Have they become a brand of cheap computers rather than strong products?
