I have heard that sometimes, prior to a buyout, the potential buyer will test the elasticity of demand for a stock by dumping shares and seeing what the price does. I did not think much of the CA takeover speculation prior to this morning, but I am thinking a little bit more about it now. Especially since CA has to acquire to survive, and they were spurned on the CSC deal, so I am sure they are trolling for companies. It would be very nice indeed if VCSI were a target.
