Some analyst had downgraded the Database market. Oracle was down on an up market and so was Borland. Since Borland is the weaker company with no name recognition under the Inprise name it should pose no surprise to anyone that it is down. Go to quote.yahoo.com and type ORCL - the news should give you a fair assessment from the giant of database on the overall database market.
Upart from the name change there is also the future acquisitions that Del mentioned and stock dilution. I think these factors are weighing heavily on this stock. The many seemingly weak decisions made by management makes this a poor investment. Del is a good product manager but not a good CEO for he has not been able to gain the confidence of WS as is obvious with the share performance in the last two years.
