Baron might agree with you in the sense that growth has value...but if you look at their actual portfolio, its got things like a huge chunk of Schwab in it. They have just been real good at picking long term solid growth plays. Oakmark small cap is pretty new but their past style in other funds has been similar. True tradition value small caps funds are things like Heartland Value and Royce.

And its a good point. The fact is that they have been doing it well for a very long time. But the funds are volitile, and knowing that, its just plain foolish to get in all in one big chunk. Folks that got in when it was bleakest last winter are still doing OK. Folks that jumped them last summer are still wondering why.

Good decision on Strategic Small Co....I opted out of that one because I had no reason to think they knew the value game. The richer you get the more reason I'll have :o)
