Paul. Re: "Let's be thankful that Intel is controlling this technology deployment schedule." Believe me I am. That is the main reason why my Intel investment is "untouchable" (even tho' my broker suggests "lightening up").

But I do find it frustrating that Intel's customers, like Dell and Gateway, are benefiting more from Intel's superb execution than Intel seems to be.

What's hard for us to see here is how well Intel is doing because the results are clouded by the short term (I hope) inventory correction. In this week's Business Week, Intel ranked in the top ten in total profit for 1Q 98.

When I read your posts or others on Intel's roadmap, I feel a lot better.

Do you think this problem of getting more software for hi-speed chips is one reason Andy is moving to Chairman, so he can jump-start that effort?
