<<Why is compaq's PE 32 and gtw and dell's are in the 70's?>>

Because Dell and Gateway are grossly overvalued while Compaq is undervalued. After Compaq's big run, which we all know is coming, the gap in the PEs will narrow

IMHO, DELL has a P/E more than twice Compaq's because they are growing faster than Compaq and making big increases in earnings while Compaq's earnings are in the toilet. One thing I can't figure out: If Compaq has no earnings, how can their P/E be lower than Dell's?

If I sound bitter, I am. I sold DELL last fall to buy CPQ. Since then Dell is up 127% and CPQ is down 20%. [But I didn't sell all of my DELL (GGGGG)]
