Jim, Dell was down 1/4 in after hours trading. I suspect this may be related to the HP announcement. I sure would think that Dell would have preannounced if they were going to miss their estimate for the quarter. Michael Dell has been very optimistic about the company's growth and performance...and I sure have to believe that performance includes their financial performance. First Call has the quarter at 42 cents.

What concerns me the most at this time is the overall market's lack of technical strength and the current problems in Asia and India. What a mess!!! Sure hope the US market continues to be a safe haven for Asian investors. Need to get the long bond down in yield and make the stock market more attractive. My concern is that if the US Market tanks because of the Asian and India problems, I believe that Dell will be hard hit...the profits are so great, that investors will take the money and run for the exits.

What's your take on Dell meeting the 42 cents?

Stock Bull

PS: Recent Dell investor...however, own a Dell computer for past 1 1/2 years. A great computer, and technical support organization. (Although not perfect, head and shoulders above the competition.)
