Hi, Mark!

It is true that the examples I gave were extreme and clearly not based upon love.

Let me see if I can fit the emotion of love into an extreme example... hmmm... consider someone who loves God so much that they become fanatically devoted to God - faith without humility; yet, emotionally, it is love [more on this "little" point later]. Suppose someone loves Jesus and believes that he is the Son of God to the extreme of disparaging all who do not acknowledge that Jesus is as such. To the extreme of calling all those people the minions of Satan. Can hatred be a product or corollary of love-based belief? Can intolerance come from love?

If love is a pure emotion, then can it be polluted? How? Why? Are love and fear the basis of all other emotions? Are they independent? A little bit of love and a little bit of fear and you have... Obsession... by Calvin Klein. ;-)

A friend,

Greg
