Dear Chung:

The government seeks to save face. They can't walk away now not after all the publicity surrounding their "air tight" case. This thing is a mistake but they won't admit they don't know what they are doing. Do we honestly think that Waco Reno has a clue?

In their latest decision in favor of MSFT the appellate court said "the government should not find itself in the unfortunate position of designing computers" or words to that effect. See Infobeat morning coffee edition. Nevertheless it will make institutions nervous. As they mostly like a sure thing.
