I don't know all of the nuances of the Telecom Act, but it seems to me that the basic purpose was to provide competition that will result in lower prices to the consumer.

US West and Ameritech have taken steps to do this with their agreement with Qwest.

The ones doing the suing seem to be advocating less competition and higher prices.

If the Telecom Act has any meat to it, the ones suing shouldn't win.

If they win, what good is the Telecom Act?

What we need is for the telcos to sign up in droves.
