The foreigners don't begin to understand the Indian and esp the Hindu mind, unless they have studied the great Hindu epics, such as Ramayana and Mahabharata and lived among Indians. You know very well that Hindus always , under duress, refer to episodes in Ramayana and Mahabharata and draw strength from characters in these epics.
I am positive that Vajpayee is drawing strength from characters in the two great epics at this moment.
Indians and particularly Hindus understand the human psche, interpersonal relationships, friend and foe relationships and interactions, duplicity, deception, friendship, intrafamilial , community, nation to nation relationships, double standards etc. It is in the genes and a character built over 5 thousand years that the alien mind can't fathom or understand.
