Richard: The fact the FDA waited until the 11th hour on the last day makes one suspicious of your rationale. Obviously, the FDA could have done what they did months before. There appears here to be a wanton disregard for the ALS patient community on the part of an organization presumably dedicated to patient well being.
Public organizations that lose their way tend to wind up with IRS type investigations from Congress. That would be a real step backward for the FDA! I would hope the FDA would get off their high horse and act fully in the public interest.
