Tom, George, KJ, and All:
I visited Ancor yesterday, and met Ken, Cal, Steve, Carla, and Paul for the first time. I spent about 1 1/2 hours with Cal, who gave me a tour of the facility. Several observations:
* The technology behind the MKII is phenomenal. I saw a picture of their current generation ASIC, and this is a VERY COMPLICATED device. I believe that this ASIC is really the heart and soul of the company. The team that designed this device should not be underestimated.
* I also looked at the internals of the 1/4 Gig switch, along with the MKII. There is a BIG difference between the two. The MKII has a MUCH higher level of integration, and actually appears less complex.
* There was pretty clear evidence that MKII units were really in production, and that at least some customers had them.
I'll give more details as I think of them. (My system needs a reboot. <g>)
