John Hull,

Is it illegal for a computer company to display an "Intel Inside" logo on the front of its computer if in fact it has a Cyrix CPU inside with an Intel chipset? I ask because somebody just emailed me telling me that this is done by a certain third tier box maker. He mentioned to me that it is common practice among such companies.

If this is the case, and if it is the same "Intel Inside" logo which says "Pentium" below it, it would seem to me that the box maker is deceiving the consumer. Is Intel aware that some third tier box makers may be using its logo in such a manner? Also, what is Intel doing to stop this practice?

nate.
