Steven, After thinking about your question for a couple of days, I have come to the conclusion that in a strictly geographical setting Southtrust is better to be absorbed with more locations in more states. BUT the bank that buys Southtrust must also buy BancSouth
BXS because SOTR is weak in Tennessee and Mississippi.

Without studying the financials and stats seem like SOTR, RGBK and ASO are very similar in makeup. I'm sure there are differences and I'm not here to argue the differences.

IMO, all of them will fall sooner or later. I really am surprised Bank One Bought First Chicago and not buy into the South. Barnett was the first.

Have you seen ASOs annual report? One sweet looking book. Probably costs $$$$$$$$$.
