Netwave Technologies partners with Ingram Micro to distribute wireless networking products
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 1996--Netwave Technologies Inc., on Wednesday announced the signing of an agreement with Ingram Micro Inc., to distribute Netwave Technologies' wireless networking products, including the Netwave AirSurfer Wireless LAN PC Card and Netwave AirSurfer Access Point.
Both products will be available for purchase by Ingram Micro's value-added resellers in Dec. 1996.
"The agreement with Ingram Micro provides a smooth transition for the Netwave products from Xircom; ensuring product availability for Netwave AirSurfer resellers," said Jerry N. Ulrich, president of Netwave Technologies Inc.
"It also aligns our company with the largest and most sophisticated distribution partner in our industry, and positions us well to accelerate our penetration into the mobile computing market by taking advantage of Ingram Micro's worldwide distribution capabilities."
"Wireless LAN solutions are addressing a rapidly growing corporate market and are becoming an important part of the enterprise network," said Mike Terrell, vice president of purchasing for Ingram Micro. "This agreement provides a win-win situation for Ingram Micro and Netwave in that we share a common market focus.
"Netwave's products complement our offerings for mobile computing and further our ability to meet our customers' demands for innovative networking solutions."
The Netwave AirSurfer Wireless LAN products are for portable PC users who need access to information and applications provided by the network connection without losing mobility and convenience. This includes, but is not limited to, broad applications such as Internet browsing and e-mail, as well as applications used by focused markets such as legal, financial, health care, hospitality and transportation, to name a few.
In contrast to other wireless LAN products, AirSurfer products are designed with both end users and network managers in mind. Sophisticated features such as automatic load balancing and load limiting make connecting and accessing the network completely transparent to the portable PC user.
They are reliable and easy to install and come with comprehensive installation and configuration software, saving time and effort for both the network manager and end user.
