Stock talk, I don't know the exact breakdown of HP's graphics slots. I recall that S3 has most of the slots, with a strong presence by Matrox and the occaisional lingering Cirrus part. ATI has broken in recently. I'd bet the unit volume leader is still S3, though I could be wrong.

I did a quick scan of the HP web site and S3 does seem to be the lead unit supplier. S3 anchors the Vectra (2 of 3 models, with Cirrus & Matrox splitting the third), Brio (2 of 3 models, with ATI), and I'm not sure on the Pavillion line (Pain in the butt HP web site makes it impossible to figure out easily.)

ATI has won the Pavilion Multimedia series PC 8275(http://www.atitech.ca/news_awards_events/press_releases/1998/4097.html), and HP OmniBook 7100 notebook PC (http://www.atitech.ca/news_awards_events/press_releases/1998/4090.html). I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few other older press releases that I didn't see. These are relatively low unit volume product lines, but the ASPs are relatively high.

But, as you know, it's not just the socket count that matters. The ASP and margin matter too.
