Yes, their expense control was a contributing factor to the miss.

But, they missed by 12 cents.
Revenue growth was below expectation despite a 70% increase in PC units.
Orders were below expectation.

Stop tiptoeing around the main issue.
HWP lost money on their PC business because they matched CPQ's price cuts. In the process they grew PC units faster than expected, but to no avail.

This is just one more indication that there is trouble in PC land.

Is DELL immune?
