I am both a long term holder and a short term trader in the sense that I use options to partially cover against drubbings like this. Usually I purchase out of the money puts to protect myself against the sharp declines that can occur should earnings fail to meet expectations, particularly if there was a runup like we saw in HWP the past few days. Unfortunately, yestedays announcement got me before I bought the puts. From various posts you will note that I am generally optimistic about HWP and feel the selloff is a overblown. However, I stand by my statement that the HWP should have known about the PC pricing problems and warned a lot sooner than yesterday. Best of luck.
