Immediately, the artful dodger changes the nature of the discussion(argument) by <This is not about liberals, its about the consumer.> It's really about neither in the narrowest sense.

This is about the issue of the enforcement of the Sherman anti-trust laws, of which dynamic competition is the objective; and yes ,in this context, the consequences to the consumer are components.

By doing this regimond diverts the discussion away from the facts and bogs you down in marginal side issues and ultimately exhausts the original premise of the debate.
