(NASDAQ:ASYS - news) with a ''1-Strong Buy'' in the short term and ''1-Strong Buy'' for long term investors. Recently announced second quarter results for Amtech Systems, a supplier of equipment and services to the semiconductor industry, met our earnings expectation of $.05 per share. Revenues were up 83% to $4.7 million and the $.05 in per share earnings represented a 400% increase compared to last year's second quarter. We believe this reflects very positively on the company's ability to continue to grow revenues and earnings in what has proved to be a difficult environment due to economic uncertainties in Asia. Our forecast for this fiscal year, ending Sept. 30, 1998, calls for revenues to increase more than 75% to $19.5 million and earnings per share of $.17, a 183% increase from 1997. The update, released today, also includes 1999 estimates of $25.0 million in revenue and earnings per share of $.23. Our 12 month target price continues to be $5.00 per share.
