Clayton I am, very sorry if I riled you up or was uncivil. Mea culpa. I apologize as well. The great thing about these threads is the tone of civility and respect that others give each other and, again, I am sorry if I overstepped the boundaries of civility.;

I am personally devastated by what India has done having grown
up between 1945 and 1960 and seen the everday horrors of what people lived with underthe threat of nuclear annihailation. In Japan there was a whole cult of suicide amongst the artists there and a good many people nededtheir lives rather than live under the moral and emotional conditions of the Atomic halocaust hangiung over their heads.

I don't wish this era to return.

For decades I have admired and respected teh Indian leadership standing tall against the apparent "might" of the US. India under Nehru held the moral high ground during the Vietnam war for instance. In Calcutta they ever named the street on which the US Consulate was situated Ho Chi Minh Street. For decades India held out against stupid US sabre rattling, black mail, etc. But now....

The swamp we have descended into with this present government is yet to be appreciated for the harm it will cause India.

Again, mea culpa.

Best to you,
