Trial of wireless Internet dispatching solution; president appointed Instep Mobile Communications Inc ISB Shares issued 5,833,000 May 13 close $0.93 Wed 13 May 98 News Release Also BC Telecom Inc (BCT) Mr. Jeff Morris reports InStep Mobile Communications recently announced a proof of concept trial of a new, innovative wireless internet dispatching solution (eDispatch) with BC Tel Mobility. Five firms, each a leader in its field, have been signed up as beta customers for the program, and the first two have already been connected and are using the system to control part of their field operation. The company is delighted with the customer acceptance. The company's beta partners have found the system easy to install and use, and they are seeing the operational improvements that the system can provide. In the fall of 1998, later this year, InStep plans to launch this new bundled service into commercial operation, which will demand a broadening of the management team and expansion of technical resources. In anticipation of these requirements, Peter L. Bradshaw has been appointed as president and CEO. Mr. Bradshaw has been involved in the wireless data industry for many years. He has been active in the management, the board and the financing of several companies in this market segment including TelSoft Mobile Data, MDSI Mobile Data Solutions and Service Systems International. Thomas B. Touhey, the founder of InStep Mobile Communications has been appointed Chief Technical Officer, to enable him to concentrate on the refinement and continuing development of the eDispatch solution. The company is in the process of completing the non-brokered private placement of $750,000, which will be used to finance the company's participation, in collaboration with BC TEL Mobility, the eDispatch proof of concept program (see news in Stockwatch March 19, 1998).
