No, I'm not off the mark. "Trial lawyers" means all lawyers involved in trials. The circles I am in, a trial lawyer is short for "criminal defense lawyer." The current justice system is totally unconcearned with finding the truth. It is too caught up in some theoretical "rights of man" where the guilty have all these rights to this and that, and the lawyer must defend him to the utmost of his ability whether he is guilty or not, etc., etc. The truth is never found, nor sought, in many cases.
I didn't claim that George Allen actually said those words in a press conference or something. But actions speak louder than words. He has been anti-environmental. I am not an environmentalist, but a business major, thank you kindly.
Um, if you didn't understand, the GOP buys business votes -- that means the people who run businesses, work for these polluting businesses, etc. It even accepts money from businesses not in conformity with environmental law.
So I guess you're another of those business people who thinks they have the world figured out, right? You don't like taxes, you don't like social welfare ("Why don't they just get a job?") You realize though you are fighting a lost cause. Progressives always win in the end....
And environmentalists probably use quotation marks like any other group of people. What about them do you think makes them different from everyone else? Are they really that horrible?

P.S. -- Ronald Reagan was the best President ever, wasn't he! Well you know that thing they call a deficit? Um, most of that is his. Should we make him pay now or later?
P.P.S. -- Are you of the group that to this day thinks that Teddy Roosevelt was a nonsensical radical? He stood for everything that you oppose. (Environmentalism, trust-busting, etc.) He also happens to be The Greatest American President of The 20th Century, and in my opinion, ever. |
