I tried it out to see what would happen.
I came home for lunch checked the stock and saw it was trading
at .1250

At 14:57 (Eastern) there was a trade at......... .1250
Trading was moving rather slow and 106,100 had been traded so far

So At 15:27 (Eastern) I placed an order at .25 for 2,000
With Schwab; through the internet Schwab account (Not E Schwab)

At 15:35 Eastern it traded at... .18 with volume at 108,100
At 15:43 " it traded at... .37 with volume at 109,100
At 15:45 " it traded at... .12 with volume at 116,100
At 15:55 " it traded at... .22 with volume at 122,100

At of 7:45PM Central the Internet Schwab account still does not show that I purchased any shares.

Am I correct in recalling a CNBC interview with an angry market maker and a spokesman for some brokerage trading group that was bypassing the market makers becaue they complained of the spread being so wide. How do you go about bypassing the marketmakers ? Does the Rueters after hours trading allow any of us common folks to trade or it is limited to market makers and brokers ?
