Re: ISO-9002 Certification

This press release was of particular interest to me as I am currently the Manager of Corporate Quality Assurance for my company and have taken our organization through two ISO registrations.

The certification is probably meaningless as far as the price of SYQT stock goes. It does hold some value however, as it indicates a real effort to improve the quality of their products and reduce costs. It is also important to any OEM who is considering purchasing drives from SyQuest.

I will point out that it was the Penang, Malaysia Manufacturing Facility that was certified and not the entire company. SyQuest also chose to register under ISO-9002 rather that ISO-9001 which includes a few more requirements.

Bottom line - the news in a non-event IMO.

Regards - Dale
