More thoughts on the CC and analysts that cover ADSL. AS I listened to the same old deployment questions from these over paid analyst I finally came to the conclusion that the analyst on this call think with their back pocket not their brains. Why would ADSL stocks go through the roof in 1996 and shoot up in 1997 only to be some of the worst performers to date in 1998? ONE REASON...INVESTMENT BANKING(IB)...When ADSL first was discovered as great new tech these same analyst gave great reports and got institutions to take stock. THESE analyst knew that ADSL companies would need IB to be able to supply equipment during deployment. When chips & deployment were pushed out the promise of ADSL did not leave only the analyst potential IB fee. The analyst burned their inst. clients and still do not have enough guts to go back to the group without deployment size. I will remind all of you that this exact same thing happened with almost all internet stocks. And now look at them. The greed of analyst chasing IB will start this summer and ADSL stocks will be a very big winner in 1998 and beyond. If I was westell I tell everyone of those analyst on the call to put up now or you can kiss my xxx later because they will have their pick of IB by Y/E. Had to get this off my chest because I am tired of these ADSL analyst having to be spoon feed to get excited about ADSL...
