Tim,

I did enquire about the State of Arkansas Reporting Policy with regards to 'Quality'. It seems this will be done after all trenching is complete and all diamonds are recovered. There is some interesting background on what has been found at the Crater previously at:

outdoors.net

Gem quality stones have been found here.

As a side note, I've been reading through some old press releases (MPV's in particular) to try and do a comparison and found that while they were reporting large quanities (200+) in recovery results, the majority of these were averaging 0.6 mm in size. They are not even counting diamonds less than 1mm in size at the Crater, they throw them back...

It will be interesting to see what gets recovered from the trenches that are actually on the volcanic pipe. I anxiously await the site map, so that we'll have a better picture.
