Being in the Silicon Valley, I have the advantage to know a lot about ATHM.

When I saw the ROGER'S short list for 1998, I thought his biggest mistake is recommending to short ATHM. Obviously, he is not familiar with ATHM products.

I will give you a piece of information. When ATHM started servicing FREMONT/MILPITAS ( which is one of their first servicing sites ) area in Northern California, the subcriber rate was unbelievably high. Their installer had an average of 6 to 8 jobs per day. Just about everyone that I know of has switched to cable modem in the FREMONT/MILPITAS area, and I know a lot of people in this area. Of course, being that FREMONT/MILPITAS area is in the SILICON VALLEY, many of the subscribers are familiar with the future lies with cable lines. The pure speed is incredible; about 700% faster than 28k modem. Imagine download a picture of 2 mega bites is just a matter of a few seconds!

ATHM recently started SAN JOSE area. SAN JOSE is much much bigger than the FREMONT/MILPITAS area, and the growth rate is going to be incredible. ATHM is obviously smart enough to start in the tech heavy cities where people have a better knowledge of product than the rest of the country.

ATHM next move should be creeping up the Pennisula of the BAY from PALO ALTO all the way to SAN FRANCISCO.

This is one stock I can see being the next AOL. Yes, the future for ATHM is very bright even if AT & T does not make an equity investment, which I think it would be foolish for AT & T not to jump on the hottest thing around.
