I think you are right. My observations over the years is that gold moves up and down in very long cycles. It is also very reliable from a cyclical point of view compared to any other commodity or stock that I have followed. I do believe that when it reverses, it will go into an uptrend that will last a decade and I think the trigger will likely be worldwide currency devaluations. However, I have never been successful in calling the exact bottom of these major moves. I am happy to get 80% of the move. I am not at all convinced that the bottom is in, but certainly it could be in the process of forming now. The old adage that tops are volatile and bottoms quiet seems to be taking hold here.
