Transformation Processing Inc. Releases Century Scan 3.0 -- More
Functionality, Accuracy, Efficiency and Speed

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO --(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 1998-- Transformation
Processing Inc. (TPI and OTC BB:TPII) announced today the newest release
of Century Scan, Version 3.0, of its proprietary Year 2000 scanning
technology.

More flexibility in Scanning Scope

Century Scan expands its scanning capability. Now there are four
options:

-- Scan source only -- Scan copybooks only -- NEW - Scan source code
expanded with copybook contents (up to 7

levels of inclusion -- NEW - Scan data definitions only expanded with
copybooks (up to 7

levels of inclusion)

More Intelligent handling of the Propagation process

When performing propagation, Century Scan now checks each operation in a
program with DATE variables already identified taking onto account
exclusions. If Century Scan finds there is another variable directly
involved with the DATE (assignment or comparison), the ''date'' status
will be transferred or propagated. To prevent wrong leads while doing
propagation, Century Scan now lets you limit the number of ''new dates''
found. As ''false positives'' can be filtered out at an earlier stage,
this technique brings more efficiency and accuracy to the DATE search.

INSPECTOR: Highlighting and Verifying Year 2000 Remediation

Century Scan now covers the complete Year 2000 Life Cycle -- from
Discovery (Scan/Extended Scan) to Assessment (Propagation) -- and now
Remediation and Testing. INSPECTOR verifies the remediation methods of
windowing and expansion:

-- HELPER - highlighting Year 2000 unresolved dates

INSPECTOR Helper provides intelligent information for the Year 2000
verification process.

-- EXPANSION METHOD HELPER lists the DATE fields that are considered
expanded to hold century digits. Century Scan uses its improved scan and
propagation capability to perform extensive field size analysis (with an
exclusion field size option).

-- WINDOWING METHOD HELPER focuses on and identifies Year 2000
non-compliant commands in a program. It actually highlights the DATE
impacted operations.

-- CHECKER - proves the completeness and quality of the Year 2000

remediation

-- EXPANSION METHOD CHECKER reveals the dates that are NOT expanded
after the remediation process has been completed.

-- WINDOWING METHOD CHECKER reveals the dates that are NOT using a Year
2000 compliant command after the remediation process has been completed.

Century Scan 4.0 is scheduled for release on August 1, 1998. Release 4.0
will include:

-- A web-based interface for internet and intranet use -- A new
repository and end-user computing capability for increased

productivity -- Advanced On-line Help for ease of use and intuitive
performance -- Full propagation for UNIX-based languages -- Introducing
new testing functionality supporting TPI's Testing
