Did some research on leflunomide, the drug that Hoechst filed a NDA with the FDA. It has a very novel mechanism of action that potentially makes it useful in rheumatologic diseases like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, is considered one of the disease modifying drugs for rheumatoid arthritis.
The interesting thing, I believe is that there are a lot of research groups using this drug in transplantation of different organs, with very promising results. It prevents rejection of organs transplanted between different species: ie: a rat heart to a mouse (or viceversa, I am not sure).
