JPR: I don't know what the Pakistani's will eventually do but they
have two options as it stands now.

1)Test their nuclear device immediately to pacify the masses.
2)Like you said take the opportunity and go with economic incentives
that might come their way reward for their restraint.

Hard to say what route they will opt for. I think the immediate and more pressing danger for them is not from India but probably from the Islamic fundamentalists [if one is to go by the tendency of other Islamic nations],other factional infightings,Pakistani Military, etc. That is not to say India do not have these problems but at least we are democracy we always had problems of one kind or the other including religious fundamentalism both Hindu and Muslim and others,then there is the regional conflicts for more representation at the center and/or autonomy etc. But that is the way it goes.
